Camille Co. Cape Gooseberry & Musk luxury triple milled soap was my Day 23 gift in the 2016 Beautiful Christmas Advent Calendar, and it has a wonderfully fruity, musky smell.
The splurb on the box says “Awaken happy memories with the aroma of cape gooseberry mingled with mellow vanilla & musk. Combined with oat bran to gently exfoliate, this Camille Co. soap will remove impurities while leaving your skin smooth and nourished.”
Now, I’ve already tried two of Camille Co.’s soaps, being “Blackcurrant & Vanilla” (which was also an exfoliating bar that I found to be far too rough) and “Warm Amber & Peach” (non-exfoliating) and I’ve done full reviews on both of those (click on the product names above to read these).
Like Camille Co’s other soaps, this one lathers really well, and the exfoliating particles in this one are much more gentle than the seeds in the Blackcurrant & Vanilla bar. The oat bran gently exfoliates, unlike the seeds in the Blackcurrant & Vanilla bar that seemed to tear and scratch at the skin.
The scent of the soap seems to start fading after a few days of it being in the shower and after a week, we could barely even smell the scent anymore. This was a little disappointing, as the other two bars had a wonderful scent right up until the large, round soap was finished.
If I had to rate Camille Co’s soaps from my favourite to my least favourite, it would have to be:
– Warm Amber & Peach (loved this soap)
– Cape Gooseberry & Musk
– Blackcurrant & Vanilla (loved the smell but the exfoliating seeds did hurt)
I do enjoy using Camille Co’s luxury soaps and would definitely repurchase some of them and would definitely recommend them. They’d make great gifts or Christmas stocking fillers.
Tip: To get the bar to last longer, make sure it has a chance to dry out completely between uses, either on a soap holder with good drainage holes, or one of those spiky soap holders.
