I received a small bottle of Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel in a “Snow Fairy” gift set for Christmas last year, and after reading so many good things about it, I really wanted to like this product.
Unfortunately, I found the smell of Snow Fairy Shower Gel to be sickly sweet and quite overpowering, especially in our enclosed shower (we have a shower dome, so the scent gets trapped in there with the steam and there’s no airflow until you get out). The first time I’d used it, by the time I’d finished showering and climbed out, I felt like I’d showered with candyfloss and had seriously overdosed on sugar; the scent of this product left the same strange feeling in back of my mouth that I get when I eat too much of something sickly sweet and I couldn’t wait to get out into some fresh air.
It wasn’t a very good first impression of a Lush product, especially since this wash the first Lush product that I’d ever used! It did leave the bathroom smelling nice, it did lather really well. Plus, little bottle lasted a long time, as only a small amount was needed to get a rich lather.
I really did want to like this Shower Gel, as I love the smell of Lush Fairy Dust Dusting Powder, but I just found Snow Fairy Shower Gel to be too overpoweringly strong. If I had a bath, I would have tried to use it as a bubble bath instead of a shower gel.
I don’t know if the strength of the scent differs from batch to batch, but unfortunately, I won’t be buying any more Snow Fairy Shower Gel.
