No3 Underbalm “Vanilla & Lime” is a natural, unisex deodorant (suitable for both men and women) in paste form, and is made from organic ingredients, is free from chemicals, and contains no artificial ingredients.
The balm is packaged in a sturdy, recyclable 60ml glass pot with a plastic white screw top lid. Each pot holds roughly 100 applications (this will all depend on how much you apply), and the balm is good for 12 months from date of opening. It does expire after this, obviously, due to the natural ingredients used being exposed to air on a daily basis.
I purchased “Vanilla & Lime” after initially trying “Lemongrass & Lime” Underbalm, and we prefer the smell of Vanilla & Lime, as it’s is not as sweet or fruity as the Lemongrass & Lime variant, and is definitely more subtle, and doesn’t clash with perfumes or scented body lotions.
The texture of the Underbalm does vary depending on the temperature. If it’s hot, the balm can melt and become fairly liquid (just stir it and place in the fridge for 15 minutes), or if it’s a really cold day, the balm can become quite hard, so just scrape some out with the clean popsicle stick and transfer it to your fingers. The warmth from rubbing your fingers together will melt it enough for you to be able to spread it easily onto your skin.
A small pea-sized amount of Underbalm should be applied to each armpit once a day (or as needed), and it’s best to apply it to clean, dry skin, as soon as you get out the bath or shower. As it’s a paste, there is no applicator, you just have to get in there and apply it with your fingers after scooping a little out of the tub with a clean wooden popsicle stick, before transferring it onto fingers and then onto the armpits. If you’re still not sure how to use it, there’s a “how to apply” video on No3’s website.
Underbalm is absorbed into the skin, much like a moisturiser, so there’s no greasiness, stickiness and no residue to get onto clothing. I have applied it straight after shaving and had no irritation or discomfort. Best of all, it absorbs odour and it really works! We’ve used Underbalm for over a year now, and it’s held up through various sweaty situations, from vigorous marathon training to usual day-to-day activities.
No3’s Underbalm has become a favorite in our house, and I’ve just purchased our fifth or sixth pot of Underbalm, so I definitely do recommend this product. If you’re looking for a natural deodorant that won’t stain your clothes, and does work, give Underbalm a try.
Underbalm is available in 4 scents “Lemongrass & Lime”, “Vanilla & Lime”, “Patchouli & Citrus” and “Sandalwood & Mint”. It’s suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin, and can be ordered online from No3.
