Mmm … That’s Nice! Sweet Orange & Clove Shower Gel is packaged in a dark brown plastic 220ml pump style bottle, with gold trim around the base of the pump, and a picture of a New Zealand native Tui on the label.
The clear shower gel inside the bottle has quite an intense scent of sun-kissed sweet oranges mixed with the warm musky fragrance of cloves and a hint of cinnamon. While I’m not a fan of cloves at all, I dislike the smell and taste of them, I did find the scent of clove in this shower gel to be very overpowering. Somehow the scent of the sweet orange and cinnamon just got lost underneath all the clove.
The shower gel cleanses gently, and lathers quite well, although one issue I did have with this product is that the pump dispenses very little product each time it is pressed. I found that even using a shower pouf or loofah, I had to apply about 12 pumps of product onto the shower poof or loofah before I was able to work up enough lather to wash my entire body. If I used less pumps, I ran out of lather during my shower and had to go back and add more shower gel to finish washing myself.
Mmm … That’s nice! products are quite expensive when compared to other shower gels and body washes, but these are designed to be novelty items or gifts, and are stocked and sold by novelty product and souvenir stores. They’re definitely aimed at tourists and are nice as a gift or a “treat” item, but are not products that the average Kiwi household could afford to purchase on an ongoing basis.
Would I purchase another bottle of this shower gel? I doubt it. Firstly, there’s the cost. Secondly, the overpowering scent of cloves put me off this shower gel, although I would like to try smell the other scents in their range and see if I like the smell of Feijoa and Ginger, or the Cherry and Vanilla.
Mmm … That’s nice! products are available from souvenir shops or online.
