The base of the Crushed Jewel pot contains the “jewel dust” or glitter and a sifter to ensure easy access to the dust, without it going everywhere! The creme eyeshadow is found in the screw top lid that fits onto the base and has its own flip top cover.
I tried #02 in Tourmaline, which is an olive green eyeshadow with a fine silver glitter. On its own, the olive green eyeshadow looks quite bland, so I blended a little dark green powder eyeshadow in the outer corner of my eye before applying the glitter or jewel dust over the top and the glitter sticks well to the creme shadow without too much fallout.
There was only one thing that I did not like about this product and it has to do with the packaging. The flip-top lid on the creme eyeshadow does not stay closed. It has a flimsy little clip that pops open with the slightest nudge or bump and doesn’t actually click shut.
Other than that, the glittery end result would be perfect for an evening out or a special occasion and the Tourmaline would work well especially for St Patrick’s Day or a Christmas party!
