The name may be a mouthful, but is L’Oreal Paris Youth Code Luminosity Extraordinary Serum “worth it”?
Applied after cleansing and before moisturising, this product has a pleasant smell and is quickly absorbed with no greasy residue, leaving a silicone-smooth feel on my skin.
Apparently it helps to correct dark spots and evens out skin tone while leaving your skin feeling hydrated. It also claims to intensify the benefits of your daily moisturiser and looks like it could be paraben free.
The packaging reads “Apply the serum by itself or before your daily care, morning or evening on your entire face”. Personally, I preferred to use this at night under my night cream and not during the day under my make-up. I did try it once in the morning and as I have a very oily skin, I found that my skin looked oilier a little quicker than usual.
When applying the product to freshly cleansed skin, I did experience a slight tingly feeling, but this stopped after a few minutes with no other skin reactions or irritations. One thing I didn’t like about the serum was the way that it reacted if too much was accidentally applied: the excess product rolls or “balls” and flakes off.
I’ve only been using the serum for two weeks and it has definitely left my skin feeling more hydrated. As for the correction of dark spots, well, it does have light-infusing ingredients which make the skin instantly appear luminous and more even toned. This could just be a “trick of light” and only time will tell if this product actually lightens dark spots over time.
Available from Farmers and selected department stores, pharmacies and supermarkets.
