Oxygen 2-in-1 Cleanser contains uniquely beneficial organic hop extracts, along with botanical actives and natural aromas. It is designed for problematic and oily skin types, and says it’s been scientifically showed to help prevent the spread of acne-causing bacteria by up to 85% within 24 hours.
As with Oxygen Ultimate Botanical Serum, I find Oxygen’s packaging to be extremely frustrating. There is nothing only box whatsoever to explain why this is called a 2-in-1 cleanser. I’m assuming that they’ve called it this because it cleanses and prevents the spread of bacteria at the same time. There is no mention on the box whether this product removes make-up, or if it has some other function, and the size of the cardboard box was misleading. It was one quarter bigger than the actual bottle inside, with a little booster box on the bottom. Why make misleading packaging? Just sell the bottle without the cardboard box and reduce the amount of packaging waste.
The grainy green, liquid cleanser is packaged in a 200ml pump style bottle, but I see on their website that they’ve now changed the packaging to a plastic squeeze tube, which could be a huge issue, especially if the formula of the liquid cleanser has not changed. The cleanser is simply going to just run out of the squeeze tube when opened, and the user won’t have any control over how much is dispensed.
The scent of this cleanser is quite clean and fresh smelling, and I was surprised to find that it contains little exfoliating particles, being small bits of pumice (volcanic ash or rock). It is not a harsh exfoliating scrub, so can be used daily, but nowhere on the bottle did it mention that this was an exfoliating cleanser. I guess that may be the part where the “2-in-1” comes in, although it would have been nice to know before I purchased this.
It cleansed my oily skin well, and did help to clear up problem areas, but it is quite pricey as far as cleansers go. Hubby tried this cleanser out, too, and said that it left his combination skin feeling quite tight, dry and over-cleansed. I’d say that this is a great cleanser for oily skin types, but be careful if you have combination skin or skin that is ‘sensitive’ to harsh cleansers. You may want to ask if you can get a sample first.
Oxygen’s 2-in-1 cleanser is available from selected Farmers stores and Life Pharmacies, or online from Oxygen Skincare.
